New life member announced

Last night at the Ballarat Scrap Metal & Recyclers Twilight Grand Final, Steve Vanderkley was awarded a Life Membership to the Association.

Steve has been involved with the Association for the past 25+ years. Throughout this time, Steve was Treasurer of the Association for 12 years (having only stepped down last year), taking over this role at a vital time in the Association’s history.

Throughout Steve’s tenure as Treasurer, he has transformed the financial processes of the Association to ensure that we are operating in a modern manner. This included creating efficiencies with regards to bank accounts and payments etc for the sub-committees. The Association has also been able to continually invest in our facilities over the past 10 years, all during a time in which Steve was overseeing the financial state of the Association.

Steve has also been a player throughout his time with the Association, with his workplace still entering a team in the Twilight Corporate competition.

Whilst the above doesn’t fully comprehend the contribution that Steve has made across the last 25 years, it does provide a snapshot which is more than impressive. I am sure you will all agree that this is a well-deserved recognition for the large contribution that Steve has made to the Association - Well done Steve!
